Mr. Roberts passed on with his wife Sylvia of 30 years by his side, at Trillium Lodge, where he has resided since August 2004.
David spent the first half of his life farming and millworking in Washington and Idaho, moving to Victoria in 1969 to care for his ailing father John Nelson Roberts until his passing in 1972. Then retiring to Qualicum Beach and meeting and married Sylvia. He loved fishing, travelling and camping with family and friends, and later became known as “The Big Man on the Scooter” to many. David is survived by his wife Sylvia Roberts at Trillium Lodge, daughter Karen Tinker, sons Ed, John and Bill Roberts of Washington, step-daughter Sharon and Richard Mathias of Qualicum and Heather VanAppleton of Nanoose, ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, half-sister LuEdith and Frank Jenkins of Arizona. He was predeceased in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, one son and one granddaughter.
At David’s request, no services will be held. He will be cremated and his ashes scattered in the bay.
