With sadness and love, the family of David Edward Gwyn Linsell announce his passing, at 85 years of age, on April 11, 2019 at Eagle Park Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.
David is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia (nee Baker), and their three children, Glyn (Kathy), Karen (Dallas), Tracey (Fabien), and grandchildren, Michael (Angela), Ryan (Nadine), Jeremy (Jessica), and Christine (Kevin), and great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hailyn. David was the love of Patricia's life. He gave everything he had to his wife and family. David is also survived by his brothers, Peter (Marg) and Carl (Ros). He will also be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Marilyn and her husband Barry who were always there to share life's experiences and give a lending hand. David is predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Suzanna, and his brothers, Derek, Charlie, and Talford.
David was born on April 7, 1934 in Leiston, Suffolk, England. He served with the Royal Air Force from 1952-1957 and was a member of the Canadian Legion. He excelled in carpentry before moving with his wife and children to Canada in March 1967 where he continued his love of woodworking.
David resided in Winnipeg until moving to St Malo, Manitoba, in 1976 to live in a house built by his own hands before returning once more to Winnipeg. David and Pat relocated to Parksville, British Columbia, in 1996 where they enjoyed many happy years together. They also enjoyed many winters in the warmth of Mesa, Arizona where they made many friends. David was a patient and loving person who enjoyed a round of golf and was a wonderful dancer.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Eagle Park Health Care Facility for the loving care and support they gave to David in his final year of life. A big thank you to Dr. Penny Bartlett and the wonderful staff in the green area.
