1938 -2016

 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Nenzel, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Dave was born August 03, 1938 in Rossland B.C.  He passed away peacefully on the evening of July 06 at NRGH.

Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years, RoseMarie, his sisters Sr. Andrea Nenzel  and  Judith Knight (Terry); his children  George, Richard (Colleen), Steven (Tracey), Mary, Barb (Joe, recently deceased), Debbie (Michael) Doug (Darlena), Greg and Phillip; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and  brother-in-law, Harold MacDougall, one nephew and two nieces.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Janet and George Nenzel, sisters Mary Willmek and Janet MacDougall, grandson John Griggs and nephew Andrew MacDougall.

Dave was the owner of a number of businesses and through the years developed a keen interest in computers; in his retirement he was the “go to man” for computer help.

He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus member, actively involved with Ascension Catholic Church, Parksville, on church council for Hope Lutheran Church, Nanaimo and an active community volunteer. Dave and RoseMarie spent many years enjoying annual trips to Hawaii and Germany.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Catholic Church of the Ascension, 877 Wembley Rd., Parksville, at 11:00am on Saturday July 16, 2016.

Reception to follow in church hall and will then proceed to graveside service at Qualicum Beach Cemetery, 687 Jones St., Qualicum Beach.

Family and friends are invited to come to Rathtrevor Beach, Parksville on Sunday July 17th  at 2:00pm for a celebration of life party. It will be pot-luck style. Bring your own chair and lots of memories to share.

In lieu of flowers,  please consider a memorial donation in Dave’s name to either the Church of the Ascension, Hope Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
