David Pyers Mostyn, 80 years, died peacefully on September 8, 2018, in Nanaimo, BC.
Pyers is survived by his beloved wife, Suzy, three sons, Richard, David and Peter, daughters-in-law Shona, Kathleen and Stephanie, six grandsons, and his brother, Clive.
This kind, generous, gentle man was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was an avid reader, athlete and artist, a gardener, an adept tinkerer and accomplished barbecue chef. During their 55 years of devoted family life the Mostyns shared their several homes in Vancouver, Ottawa and Parksville, B.C. with a hectic menagerie of dogs and cats.
Pyers yearned for - but never made it back home to - his beautiful garden in Parksville. And when he died in
Nanaimo general hospital's palliative care ward he was holding Suzy's hand.

He travelled to the Yukon regularly to be with his children and grandchildren living here and the Kathleen River was a favourite of his.
