Fossen, Del
May 10, 1925 – January 22, 2006
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Del Fossen beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Del is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Dee, his daughter Jeanne Smith (Larry), his son Ted Fossen, his grandchildren Darren Kennedy (Charlene), Laurie Kennedy (Greg Simpson), Heidi Homan (Darren), Bobbie Fossen and Jennifer Fossen, his great grandchildren, Heather, Gregory, Haiden, Jordan and Brianna, his brothers Virgil and Merl Fossen, and his brother-in-law Ted Smith of Naramata, BC and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Myrtle Fossen, his son Gary Fossen and his granddaughter Katrina Acres.
We will greatly miss him, love him and
remember him always.
Del spent most of his adult life on Vancouver Island, in Port Alberni and Qualicum Beach. His working years were spent with MacMillan Blodel, many of those years as Groundwood Superintendent in the Port Alberni and Powell River Pulp Mills. He and Dee spent most of their retirement years in Qualicum Beach, returning to Port Alberni in the summer of 2004.
The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Craven, the Palliative Care nursing team and the Home Support care team for their outstanding care and compassion during Del’s failing health.
