Derek Clive Davies

Aged 86 (Aug 6 1924 - March 30 2011), died 30 March 2011 at the Eagle Park Health Care Facility.


He leaves his wife Jean Davies of 55 years; daughters Jennifer and Angela; son Peter; and grandchildren Jasper and Evan.

Born and raised in London England, Derek served his country in World War II.

In 1957 he came over with wife Jean on the Queen Mary to Toronto where he lived for many years. Once retired, he and Jean moved to Tottenham for ten years to enjoy the country life. In the Fall of 1999, Derek and Jean moved out to Vancouver Island to be closer to the sea and sister Pat.

Derek’s many interests included a big passion for playing tennis, woodworking, playing piano and clarinet, as well as gardening. He was active in the community with organizations such as Streamkeepers and was a founding member of the Qualicum Beach Family History Society.

Derek was a an accomplished Civil Engineer and owned his own Pile Driving company in Toronto in the 1960’s. He was well loved and will be dearly missed by Jean and family, but always will be in our hearts.
