February 11, 1929 – April 5, 2014
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Nut Bar Mountain has lost its President. On Saturday, April 5th, 2014 Donald John George Thompson’s chainsaw went quiet for the last time.
He will always be remembered for his whimsical folk art carvings and his painting (not bad for an ex-sewer contractor).
Don leaves behind his daughter Debbie (Ron) Smith, son Gary (Tracy) and grandsons Rusty and Jared as well as Kelly the dog! Will have to go it alone.
Would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Port Alberni Hospital for their professional care.
July 13, 2014 would have been the 55th anniversary of Don & Annelise, who passed on April 27, 2012, so it’s fitting that there will be a great memorial party at the Folkart Farms on Chatsworth Road.
P.S. Jack Daniels drinkers everywhere are asked to have an extra shot for Pa.
