Don passed away peacefully on April 26, 2011.
He is survived by his wife Georgette, two daughters, one son, four grandchildren and two brothers. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Don grew up in Burnaby and West Vancouver, B.C. He served in the navy during WWII, attended UBC and subsequently had a fulfilling career with IBM. Don led an active life, running daily with his group from the YMCA, hiking, skiing, scuba diving and making wine with his brothers.
Upon his retirement he filled his days with house building, making furniture and fishing. He and Georgette enjoyed many winters spent in the Californian desert where they hiked and Don played tennis. Don will always be remembered by all who knew and worked with him for his sense of humour and his wide ranging interests.
A family service will be held later in May and donations will be gratefully received by the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C.
