MILLS, Donald Boyd
August 15, 1923 - August 29, 2005
Don was born in Qualicum Beach and spent his childhood there until he joined the navy. He came out of the navy in 1945 and settled in Qualicum working in his father’s general store.
He married in 1949 and moved over to Vancouver to work for a tea and coffee company for the next 18 years.
In 1967 he moved with his wife and 2 children to
Victoria, B.C. and joined the insurance team of “London Life” until his retirement when he subsequently moved over to Gabriola Island
where he spent 22 pleasant years.
He spent the last few months of his life in a nursing home in Nanaimo. He is survived by 2 children, Donna (Dave) Bowman, David
(Diana) Mills, 4 grandchildren, Tarra (Kelly) Darwin, Dayna Mills, Tanya Mills and Kristen Mills. Also 2 great grandchildren, Kayley
Mills and Benjamin Darwin. He is also survived by one sister, Joan Reid of Parksville and 4 nephews and nieces, Glen, Lynda, Susan and
Craig.
There will be no service by request but there will be a family gathering at a later date.
