DONALD JAMES MACPHERSON
November 16, 1937-November 20, 2016
It is with a heavy heart the family announces the passing of Don MacPherson aka Sam, at Cowichan Lodge in Duncan, BC.
Don was born in Cornwall Ontario to James and Tassebelle MacPherson. He has lived in Vancouver Island for 53 years.
He worked as a Millwright in Ocean Falls, Alberni, gold River and Harmac. Don loved sports and he golfed, played hockey and baseball as a younger man. He was a Duplicate Bridge and Cribbage player.
He retired early at 54 and he and wife Marilyn enjoyed 22 years, spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona.
He spent lots of time golfing with his buddies, playing cards and volunteering for the PGA and LPGA. He also volunteered with the California Angels, San Francisco Gians and the Seattle Mariners during Spring Training.
The Family would like to thank the NRGH 4th floor and the Cowichan Lodge for all the care given to Don these past 8 months. To the doctors and nurses who cared and kept in touch with us over that period.
A Celebration of Life will be held in early January. Time and place will be announced
in the local paper.
