LAIRD, Donald
(Passed away July 10th, 2005)
Donald died in Nanaimo Hospital on July 10, 2005 of a sudden heart attack. Born in Victoria B.C. in 1928. Predeceased by this father Sam, his mother Nellie and his brother Bob. Survived by his wife of
56 years Elsie, his son Emry [Coquitlam] daughter Mary Ellen [Victoria] twin grandsons Michael Conrad [Victoria] Joey Conrad [Burnaby] and his favorite sister Doreen Hawkes [Nanaimo] plus loving nieces and nephews. He was the owner of a successful small business in Vancouver for 25 years. Upon his retirement he returned to Victoria and began a second career with the Dept. of National Defence. Following his working career, he retired with his wife to Parksville. He was an avid - some would say - brilliant fisherman, a charter member of the Happy Islanders R.V. Club and was fast becoming a force on the Parksville Lawn Bowling pitch. He was thoughtful and generous to
a fault and his smile will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Cremation. No service upon request.
