Curly gently passed away as the sun set on May 31, 2015
He lived most of his life in Coombs, on a small hobby farm “My-Nure Acres”. Curly loved tinkering with anything mechanical, a master machinist and welder by trade. During his lifetime he built houses, planes, cars and boats. He was an owner operator of several companies involved with house moving, aerial photography, fishing, tug boating, saw milling, floating machine shop and most recently boat mooring aboard his beloved scow “Old Tek” docked at French Creek Marina.
He is survived by his second wife, Ann Livingston, brother Malcolm, sister Beverly, daughters Leila and Elka, grandchildren Auna, Ethan and Dianthe, as well as cousin Larry, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Mabel Mc Rae, and his loving wife of 40 years, Addie Hoyland.
A memorial to his life will be held Saturday, September 19th at 1pm,
at 239 McVickers Street, Parksville, B.C. All are welcome to celebrate
Curly’s life, and share their stories and photos. In lieu of flowers ,
you are welcome to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society
