Early morning January 17 passed away peacefully with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Doreen’s husband W/Cdr George W Scott, MBE, AFC passed away in 1986. She was a loving mother to daughter Jane (Stanley Hale), Okotoks AB; son David (Marilyn Mason), Ottawa ON; and daughter Alison (Ali Talib), Wakefield QC. Proud and loving grandmother to Major Scott Hale RCAF, Stephanie, Sara, Jeff, Iain, Jordan, Taz and Hannah. “GG” will be missed by great grandchildren Lola, Jackson, Rhys, Carson, Maddox and Chloe.
Doreen was born in Scotland and spent her married life in Canada including Baie Comeau, Hawkesbury, Ottawa, and Parksville. She will be remembered for her dedication to the Probus Club, and her years as Executive Secretary of the Association of Canadian Distillers.
Doreen led a full life and enjoyed many hobbies including watercolour painting, bridge, her Parksville walking club and playing many rounds of golf.
