Doris Margaret Hughes passed away at Stanford Place in Parksville, BC on April 26, 2012. Doris passed peacefully after a long and hard battle with Parkinson’s. She was born in Vancouver, BC on January 26, 1924, age 88 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Walter after a wonderful marriage of 63 years. Doris will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Doris was well known for her beautiful smile. Doris worked for the Burnaby School District as a teacher and later a principal for many years.
A Memorial Service will be held at Yates Funeral Home, 1000 Allsbrook Rd Parksville, BC on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 2:00PM. A reception for family and friends will follow.
