It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy, better known to her family and friends as Dot, on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
Dot is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Edward; sons Mark (Terry) Keen, Brett Keen, Craig (Lydia) Keen; grandsons, Mathew, Jordan, and Sam; stepsister, Gayle Szolosi. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Dorothy.
Dot will be dearly missed by her family and extended network of friends. She will be fondly remembered as a dedicated mother, loving wife, a lover of classical music, and an accomplished piano teacher. Dot was a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and shared her talent and passion for music joyfully.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Dot’s honour at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 6th, 2016 at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road in Parksville. In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring Dot’s memory by making a donation in her name to Oceanside Stroke Recovery Society, 399 Dorset Road, Qualicum Beach, BC V9K 1H5.
