BUCKNER, Dorothy Mae
(nee Burgess) of Parksville passed away peacefully on December 27, 2003 in Nanaimo, BC at the age of 76. She was born June 25, 1927 in Port Alberni, BC. Dorothy will be dearly missed by Carl, her husband of 59 years, her children, Bonnie Buckner (White Rock), Cheryl (John) Lum (Richmond), and Bob (Rubyann) Buckner (Vancouver). She leaves behind her six grandchildren, Milen, Joel, Charlene, Chadwick, Allison and Lauren and her great-granddaughter, Danica. She also is survived by her sister, Marjorie (Bobbie) Parberry (Abbotsford). Dorothy will be remembered by her friends and family for her kindness and generosity and for her love of the outdoors, traveling, fishing, cruising and playing cards. Family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Nanaimo Regional Hospital and Nanaimo Seniors Village and also to the many friends and neighbors for their care and compassion. Dorothy requested no services and flowers are gratefully declined. There will be a celebration of Dorothy's life to take place at a later date. She will be sadly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
