Dorothy passed away peacefully at Stanford Place, Parksville. She was preceded by two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her husband Ernie, two sons, Doug (Maggie), Gerry (Calanthe), two grandchildren, Michelle and Erica, six great grandchildren, and brother Pete (Mary).
Dorothy was born in Parksville and grew up in North Qualicum at the family home in what is now called Qualicum Landing, she was born to a pioneer family dating back to the Hudson Bay Company in Nanaimo.
She worked in retail in Parksville for many years and was a long time member of Branch 49 Legion, where she spent many “Happy Hours”.
The family would like to thank the staff of Stanford Place, (particularly Alderview which was Dorothy’s home for the past 2 1/2 years) for the exceptional care they gave her, also to Dr. Henderson for his compassionate care.
A tea will be held in Dorothy’s memory for family and friends on Friday, February 18th from, 1pm to 3pm at the Parksville Legion Hall.
