Died peacefully on February 14, 2005

in his 91st year at Nanaimo, B.C.


Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Esdale) for more than 65 years, loving father of Lynne (Wilson Smart), Diane (William Cornish) and David (Kerry Evans), wonderful grandfather of David, Sharon (Joe Kewekordes), Malcolm (Julie Sibbald), Hilary, Melissa and Steven:

special great-grandfather of Michael. He was pre-deceased by his parents, David and Beatrice Robertson, his brothers Kenneth and Stewart and his grandson David. Remembered with love and affection all his family and friends. Doug had a distinguished military career, serving on Wi nston Churchill’s staff, fighting through the Northern Campaign in Holland,

commanding the Calgary Highlanders at the end of World War II, and serving on the International Joint Commission in Viet Nam in 1963. In his retirement years, he served three successive terms as Alderman of Qualicum Beach, B.C.


Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen’s United Church, Qualicum Beach, B.C. at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 18, 2005.
