Douglas L. Marceau, age 80, passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, June 10, 2019.
Doug was born on August 13, 1938 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Doug is survived by his beautiful wife of nearly 60 years Margaret Rose Marceau (Ruttan), daughter Teri Taylor (children Curtis (great granddaughter Taylor), Colin, Cameron), Teri's husband Mark (children Nicholas, Alisha). Sons David Marceau, Greg Marceau (Jan, children Laurie, Nicole) and his youngest son Daryl (Alicia, children Lucas and Reid).
Doug worked as an instrument electrician for 27 years at the Port Alberni Mill. Doug's hobbies included being a Ham Radio operator for over 50 years He served as the local ham radio club's president for many years.
Doug loved the Lord. His faith showed through his years as a volunteer and solider with the Salvation Army Church in Parksville. Those who knew Doug loved him from those first moments with him. He spread love, joy and laughter all around.
A service in Doug's memory will be held at The Salvation Army Church (187 Alberni Hwy, Parksville) on Sunday, June 23 at 3:30 pm.
