Edie passed away peacefully at home after being diagnosed with cancer in November 2010. Edie was born in Vancouver, and graduated from McGee High School and from UBC. She worked as an Orthopedic Technologist at Seattle Orthopedic until marrying her long time love, Jim. They lived in Toronto, Edmonton and West Vancouver until retiring in Qualicum Beach. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Christena Scott, and her sister Norma Olsen. She will be greatly missed by her husband James Irvine Loutit, her children, Christie Drewbrook (Cecil), Nance McDougall (Brent), and James Loutit (Sandy), her six grandchildren, Connie, Leah, Fiona, Josie, Alden, and Rowan, as well as all of her nieces and nephews. Edie was an active participant in her local golf clubs, Seymour, Eaglecrest, and Pheasant Glen. She enjoyed volunteering up Grouse Mountain with the Tyee Ski Club and in later years at the Qualicum Gardens. Edie was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives and they all considered Nana and Papa’s house their home away from home. She had many fond memories of ski and golf trips with close friends, bridge games, hosting Christmas and pool parties, and holidays down south.
