September 9, 1923 – March 27, 2006

Predeceased by her brother Walter, sister Beatrice and daughter Baby Reynolds in 1954. She is survived by her loving husband Olaf (Nick), daughter Barbara (Catto) of Parksville and son Richard (Lori) of Port Alberni; 5 granddaughters, Natalie (Jason) and Jennifer Catto and Mallori, Jillian and Kaitlyn Reynolds of Port Alberni; brothers John Allen (Dawneen) of Parksville, Douglas Allen (Mary) of Surrey, sisters Jessie Allen of Parksville and Grace Allen of Vancouver.

Edith was raised on a farm near St. Paul, Alberta the 3rd eldest in a family of seven. She was from a young age depended upon to help raise her siblings and help with farm chores. She moved with her family to Coombs in 1943 where she met and married Olaf (Nick) Reynolds in 1951. They moved to Port Alberni where they raised their children and then moved to Parksville in 1980. Her life focused around her family and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an active member of her church. She went home to be with her Lord after a difficult 6 month battle with cancer.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Parksville Cemetary, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Errington, BC. Tea to follow at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 795 West Island Highway, Parksville, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation or the Cancer Society.
