July 16, 2006

Cyncora, Edward Richard

Born in Manitoba in 1935 passed away suddenly & peacefully in Nanaimo General on July 16,2006 after a brief & courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was predeceased by his long time friend & companion Jean Cyncora in January/06. Survived by his children, Rick of Abbotsford, Michelle of Castlegar, Earla of Edmonton, 6 grandchildren, sister Donna & brother Rob.

Ed was a long time resident of Whiskey Creek having moved to the Island when he was about 16 years old. His greatest passion as a young man was music, & he played in several bands.  He wrote & recorded several nice country records, and even recorded  a ‘ Parksville Song’  and also one about the Bathtub race.

Ed worked in logging camps most of his working career in camps up & down the coast, he later turned to carpentry, mushroom buying & salisle picking in his spare time. He was always keeping busy, maintaining a huge garden and a park-like property. He truly loved the Island and walking in the bush.

His quick wit, humor, music & presence will be sadly missed by all his family,  friends, especially long time friends

Orest & Linda Babiuk of Port Alberni as well as all his Bingo Buddies.

No service will be held at his request.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society.
