BROWN, Eileen
Passed away peacefully on May 28, 2005 at Nanaimo Regional Hospital, following a long and courageous battle with Cancer, with her family at her bedside
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 47 years Ian; along with her two sons, Stephen (Janice) of Airdrie, Alberta and Nicholas
from Edmonton, Alberta; grand daughters Lizanne and Lindsey; great grandson Ryley; brothers Cecil and Derek Oliver. Eileen was
predeceased by her brother Hubert only last month. Eileen’s extended family is from Leduc, Alberta and her sister-in-law, Lorna from
Groomsport, Northern Ireland. Eileen has many, many friends in Qualicum Beach, Campbell River, and Leduc, Alberta.
Eileen was born October 8, 1935 in Belfast, Northern Ireland where she married Ian and with her two sons moved to Leduc, Alberta in
1972. Shortly afterwards, Eileen began her airline career with Pacific Western Airlines in Edmonton, before moving to Saanichton in 1987,
then onto Ladner, Comox and after retiring from Canadian Airlines International, Ian and Eileen settled in Qualicum Beach.
No service will be held at Eileen’s request, however a Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be held both in Leduc, Alberta and also in Qualicum Beach at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family would strongly encourage donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society with loving memory in
Eileen’s name.
