MARTIN, Eileen Thelma
August 2, 1921 – June 3, 2006
A resident of Arrowsmith Lodge, Eileen passed away suddenly from heart failure. Eileen moved to Errington with her husband Harry and six children in 1959. After Harry’s untimely death in 1961, Eileen went out to work, first at the Island Hall Hotel and then for many years for School District 69. Her good nature, strength of character, and compassion won her the respect of those who knew her. She moved to Parksville in 1988 where she enjoyed her retirement, travelling and sharing life with friends and family. Eileen spent her last years in the excellent care provided at Arrowsmith Lodge.
Eileen leaves behind her sister Bernice and brother Lloyd, daughters Maureen and Heather, and her sons Allan, Douglas, Ralph and David and their families. Eileen was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Eileen’s life will be held Friday, June 9 at 1:00 pm at St. Stephen’s United Church in Qualicum.
