February 19, 1928 – September 6, 2009

It is with much love and sadness we announce the

passing of our beautiful mother and grandmother, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Eileen was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. She met her husband Norman while they both worked as young people in a Copp’s Shoe Store. In 1950 she married

Norman and they were a close, happily married couple for over 52 years.

On November 19th, 1953, while attending gospel meetings in South Main Gospel Hall, Vancouver, Eileen accepted Christ as her Saviour. She had assurance and lived from his word throughout her life.

Her husband Norman was involved in the general contracting business on Vancouver Island and brought the family over to see it. They loved the island and decided to move from Vancouver to “Winchester Meadows” in 1972.

Eileen was the company bookkeeper and really enjoyed her years of contribution to their successful business. Anyone meeting Mom sensed her kind, caring spirit and it wasn’t unusual for strangers upon meeting her to strike up confiding conversations. Mom would always show genuine interest. Eileen attended Latham Road Gospel Hall in Port Alberni for thirty-seven years and was loved and respected by all in the meeting.

Her loving husband Norman went to be with his Lord on June 7th, 2003. Deeply mourning their loss are daughters Cathie (Lewis-Hardy) and Brenda along with son Glenn and his wife Brenda (McEachern). She was a much loved “Gma” to Carrie, Jen, Tyler, Ryan, Evan and Lauren. In addition, Eileen is survived by sisters Mabel (Steven), Norma (Hugh Stevens) and Shirley (Lee), nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Face to face with Christ my Saviour,

Face to face – what will it be?

When with rapture I behold Him,

Jesus Christ, who died for me.

Face to face shall I behold Him

Far beyond the starry sky;

Face to face in all His glory,

I shall see Him by and by.
