September 3, 1927 – July 1, 2006
Eleanor Deforest quietly passed away at the age of 78 years, to start her journey “Back Home”.
She was predeceased by her parents Carol and Hilda Campbell, her husband Max Deforest, sister Evelyn Innes, a sister in infancy and brother Claude Campbell.
She is survived by her son Martin (Anne) and daughter Valerie. Left with fond memories of Nan are her grandchildren Tracey (Alain), Candace (Al), Troy, Michael (Alder), Leif and Rachelle. Precious great grandchildren Doug, Alyssa, Max, Rachel, Hudson, Bracken, Shandra, Nolan and Brandon, brother Ken Campbell (Verla) and also many very special nieces, nephews and cousins.
After losing her mother at a very young age, Eleanor quickly learned the importance of family, and established a strong will to do things her way… and she did exactly that until the end.
Great thanks and appreciation to Dr. Fridriksson, Dr. Love, the nurses at NRGH, all her caring home support workers, Valerie at Hospice, and also the very efficient home care nurses that got to know her briefly in the last weeks of her life. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside funeral service will be held a 11:00 am, Friday, July 7, 2006, from the Greenwood Cemetery, Josephine Street, Port Alberni, BC.
