SCHILDS, Elizabeth Helen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Elizabeth Helen Schilds (Betty).
Betty graciously left us June 27, 2008. She was surrounded by her family at the Eagle Park Home in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.
Betty was born October 15, 1939 Elizabeth Helen Gamble in Carberry, Manitoba.
Betty is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Ronald Schilds, daughter Valerie Schilds (Mike) - Brandon,
Manitoba; son, Steven (Marlene) - Kansas, USA; Gary (Amy) of Nanaimo BC. She is also survived by grandchildren: Channa, Katrina and Jackie, and greatgrandchildren Elyssa and Tristan. Further, she leaves sisters and brothers to mourn her passing: Ralph Gamble, Donna Bennett, Bruce Gamble and Bill Gamble.
Betty will be missed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all of us! She was an avid volunteer for the Community Seniors, a fantastic ballroom dancer, and a talented quilter. Betty leaves many friends in Surfside RV in Parksville and Mesa, Arizona Snowbirds.
Her family would like to recognize the many compassionate caregivers that Betty was blessed with. They include, but are not limited to, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (Daycare and Palliative Care), Eagle Park Health Care staff, and Dr. Hickey-Summerville of Parksville -- to all a Big Thank-You!
An interment will be made in Brandon, Manitoba
at a later date.
Donations can be made to the Cancer Society or Palliative Care in memory of Betty.
