July 25, 2005

HARDER, Elizabeth Marion (nee Wilson)

Passed away, in the company of her family, at the age of 81 on Monday, July 25th in Nanaimo, after suffering a stroke.

Elma lived a full, rich life, and her energy and youth shone brightly until the very end. Brought up in Scotland, she studied photography in her youth, and served in the Auxillary Territorial Service as a gunner stationed in New Castle. After the war Elma immigrated to Canada,

where she raised a family in North Vancouver, BC, developed her career as a medical receptionist and later retired to Parksville, BC.

Elma passionately pursued her interests in federal politics, community associations, lawn bowling, gardening, bird watching, poetry, and painting, and she was an exceptional Scottish dancer. She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sons Greg, Christopher,

Paul, and Brian, their partners Barbara, Philippa, Vivian, and Jutta and all of her grandchildren, Colby, Jake, Lucas, Jessica, Tyler, Heather, Kate, Joshua, and Justin, her niece Muriel, her husband Abdul, and their children Amanda, Ross, Lucinda, and Vanessa, as well

as her many nieces and nephews and dear friends here and abroad. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation

to the wonderful staff at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Please join the family

to honour her at a gathering on

Saturday, August 13 at 1:00 pm at the

Oceanside Community Church,

1420 Alberni Highway, Parksville,BC.
