It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elsa after a devastating two year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Elsa will be greatly missed by her husband Hans, son Raymer, daughter Gysella (Dan), seven grandchildren, two brothers Hiedo Brase (Crystal), Wilfreet Brase (Hamina), two sisters Lisa Brase, Gertrude Gerke, many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family extends its sincere thanks to the ALS Society of BC whose extensive knowledge and guidance assisted the family in providing the care necessary to keep Elsa comfortably at home as long as possible. We also wish to thank the Staff of the Parksville Home Care Society and Arrowsmith Lodge for providing Elsa with the advanced attention she required in the later stage of this debilitating disease.
