WELLS, Eric

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Eric Wells, born in London within the sound of Bow bells on Nov 25 1927.

His boyhood at the Royal Hospital School led to his first career in the Royal Navy. Stories of his adventures would later inspire his children.

A move to Edmonton in 1957 began his life in Canada. He married Marlene Drolet, had three boys and a girl, and started a second career with CIL which took the family east to Scarborough Ontario. The last 18 yrs here in Qualicum Beach brought a very fulfilling retirement.

Throughout all Eric was active, engaging, ready to smile and laugh, caring and giving of his time. He loved the company of friends. During his battle with Parkinson’s Eric showed great determination and strength of spirit to carry on.

He will be missed by his wife of 47 yrs Marlene, his sons Mark (Carolyn), David (Cheryl) and Stephen, his daughter Kathryn, and his sister Maureen and his many friends.

Heartfelt thanks to all who cared for him at Nanaimo General. Memorial gifts may be made to the Parkinson Society of B.C.
