Erin Jean Campbell

December 3rd 1944 - September 8th 2017

On brave wings she flies. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erin Jean Campbell.

Erin passed away in the loving embrace of her children Doug and Kerry. Erin's death was a perfect reflection of her; serene, beautiful and direct.

She will be dearly missed by her life-partner Ron Ansell and his family, her brother Donald (Christina) Campbell, her beloved children Doug (Raylene Tyne) Farquharson, and Kerry (Keith) Kierulf, and her granddaughters Stephanie (James) Skeels, and Norah Kierulf, both of whom Erin was exceptionally proud.

Erin was born in Kamloops on December 3rd 1944 to parents Percy and Norah (Barnard) Campbell. She lived in Kamloops and Kitimat before moving to Vancouver Island in 1975.

Erin worked as a realtor in Sidney, and later put her exceptional organizational skills to work as Office Manager, Finance Officer and ultimately Administrative Services Officer at Agriculture Canada's Food Inspection Agency.

It was there that she met the love of her life, Ron. Erin and Ron shared many hobbies including gardening, golfing, music and jive dancing. Together they enjoyed trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, San Francisco, Arizona and even the Middle East.

Erin and Ron moved to Qualicum Beach in 1997 when Erin accepted a position as Administrative Assistant at Ballenas High School. She retired in 2003 and filled her days with many interests such as Probus Club, meditation, home decor, creative writing and genealogy. A lifelong learner, Erin earned her Public Administration Diploma from Camosun College in 1993, and later in life attended classes at Elder College, where she was particularly fascinated with the study of genetics.

Erin will be remembered for her intelligent wit, her sophisticated style, her elegant home and her editor's eye. Friends and family will fondly recall the many fabulous parties she and Ron hosted, and the spontaneous after-dinner dances they enjoyed, jiving in their kitchen to the sounds of Roy Orbison, the Downchild Blues Band and Elvis.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no memorial service; rather, Erin wanted her friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in their own way, and to keep her spirit alive in their hearts.
