In loving memory ~
Eva Johanne Allin (Graaten) passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025. Born in Norway and later calling Canada home, Eva lived a life rich with spirit, creativity, and deep connection.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Solviegh and Kristian Graaten; her brother Svein Graaten; and her son, Kevin Graaten. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Amber and Jayne Allin, and her grandchildren Berit, Leif, Bryn and Paige. Eva is also survived by her siblings Lene, Runie, and Andy, who shared in her laughter, her stories, and her strong Norwegian roots.
A poet and a free spirit, Eva was a woman of fierce intellect, and sharp wit. She was a lover of a cold beer on the porch with a side of good conversation. She was a devoted letter-writer, and a woman who never shied away from speaking her truth. Eva kept us all on our toes, and brought both beauty and adventure to the everyday.
She found joy in swimming at the beach—just like her mother before her—and in the simple pleasures of books, nature, and family. Eva's legacy lives on in the words she wrote, the lives she touched, and the generations who walk the rocky shores of Qualicum Beach and think of her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aitken Hospice at Ocean Front Village, whose compassionate team provided wonderful care to Eva.
