It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Walters, in the early morning of March 1st, 2022.
Lorne was born on the 26th of September, 1929 in Vancouver, B. C., where he lived and worked.
He met the love of his life, Margo. They were married in 1962.
They had two beautiful daughters, Gillian and Kimberly whom he loved dearly. Lorne became a carpenter and worked in Vancouver until 1972 when they moved to Nanoose Bay and built the family home.
He loved working with wood and built much of the family furniture. Lorne was known for his kind and gentle ways and had a smile for everyone. Lorne is survived by his best friend and loving wife ,Margo of 59 years. Daughters Gillian of Nanoose Bay, Kimberly (Rohan) of Burnaby and April (Trevor) of Nova Scotia. Three wonderful grandchildren Quinn, Kingston and Freeman he took pride in hearing about all their activities. A brother Vaughan (Darlene) of SaltSpring Island and many nieces and nephews, and the family dog, Paisley who gave him great company. He is predeceased by both his parents, Evan and Dorothy Walters, brothers Philip and David.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Children's Hospital, the Salvation Army, and Oceanside Hospice.
We want to thank the VIHA nurses who visited and gave us much support and help during this sad time.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
