Florence Anne Curtis
April 26, 1928 – May 30, 2017
We are heartbroken to say good-bye to this incredible and very special woman. A devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will live forever in our hearts and wonderful memories.
Born in Kindersley SK, she attended college in Saskatoon and obtained her teaching degree. Her first job was in a multi – grade, one room school (where she was younger than some of her students) in Perdue, SK. It was here that she met dad, her soulmate and love of her life. They married in 1948 and at the time of her passing were coming up on their 69th anniversary.
In 1953, Mom & Dad headed to Northern SK purchasing a grocery store in Creighton, SK (next door to Flin Flon MB). They made many lifelong friends, developed a passion for fishing, curling, great parties, and their cabin at Denare Beach purchased in 1963. In 1959 after selling the store she returned to teaching until her retirement.
In 1992 a condo was purchased in Qualicum Beach BC and they split their year between BC and Denare Beach SK. Making even more friends and adding many great trips to their already active lifestyle.
Mom was predeceased by her sisters, Josephine and Barbara, her daughter Marianne and son-in-law Michael. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her husband Stanley, her children and their families; Roger (Dafina), L.G. and Stefan; Barb; Ken (Lidia), Kyle, Kristopher and Kayla and Marianne’s sons Curtis and Chace.
A funeral service will be held at the Anglican Church, 138 Hoylake Rd W., Qualicum Beach, BC. Tuesday June 6th at 2:00pm
