Florence Elizabeth Annie McLEAN

Born August 22, 1934 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario

After a brief illness, Flo was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father Sunday, June 24th, 2007, joining her daughters, Jane Glover and Tara Drouin, who recently predeceased her.

She was loved, adored and will be desperately missed by her lifelong sweetheart and friend, Jim McLean. She was honoured, respected, and loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and countless treasured friends. Survived by children: Faye Amos, Anne Glover, David Glover; grandchildren: Emily Recalma (Jake), Alison, Tom, William, Andrew, and James Amos, Liza and Rachel Klopp, Lyndsay Daynes, Jordan Drouin; great grandchildren: Seth and Margo Recalma.


Flo was an extraordinary woman, a vibrant, faithful believer, an advocate for those with mental illness and tireless in her quest for political justice in the health care system. In the earlier years she was an integral part of the Mustard Seed Street Church and remained a loyal supporter. Flo was mentor, friend and family to many she met along her way. Her sense of humour was a joy to all who knew her.


The family wishes to express their appreciation for the kind and loving care the ICU staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital offered during Flo's struggle.


Flo's life will be honoured at Western Community Baptist Church, Saturday, June 30th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will be held at Sands Funeral Home in Colwood, 317 Goldstream Ave., on Friday, June 29th, from 7-9 p.m.


Donations in Flo's name may be offered to the Mustard Seed Street Church, 625 Queens, Victoria.
