Florence Esther Frances McPhail of Calgary passed away peacefully August 3, 2007 at the Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 92.
She was born and raised in Calgary where she met and married George and together they settled in Alberta and British Columbia. She returned to Calgary in 2000 to be with her family after the death of her husband in 1996.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Mark (Judy Sheppard) McPhail, Janet Gagnon and Paul (Janice) McPhail; grandchildren, Joel McPhail, Luke Chandler, Rommillie McPhail, Patrick Doherty, Magnus Weaver, and Francis Doherty. She is also survived by her sisters Dolores Dunn and Lillian Flint, and her brother, Dr. Gordon Dunn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was employed full and part-time as a bookkeeper over the years but her main job was Mom. Frannie will be remembered for her love of young children, generous spirit and patience - always quick with a smile and encouraging word. She loved the Lord from the age of ten and delighted in serving him through her assembly, the West Hillhurst Gospel Hall.
Funeral services were held at Yates Funeral Service,
1000 Allsbrook Rd., Parksville, British Columbia on Friday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m. followed by internment in the
Cemetery. A Fellowship Tea was subsequently served in the reception room.
