July 06, 1914 – March 23, 2013
Florence passed away peacefully at age 98 in her home at Stanford Place.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Josey (Bill), granddaughters Lisa, Deana, Pam & Kim. Eight great grandchildren, many other family members and friends.
Thanks to all the staff of Bayview and the amazing recreational staff for all their love and care she was given in the 5 years she lived there. She previously lived with her daughters after she turned 90. Before moving to the Island she lived in a condo in Vancouver and spent many years enjoying time with her granddaughters and their children.
She managed to go to Britain 3 times when her granddaughter Lisa was living there and had the first 2 great-grand children who were born there. In earlier years she visited her son Andy (Liz) and granddaughters in Winnipeg and her daughter and son-in-law Howie in Toronto, and spent happy times in Grand Forks, BC, where her Russian roots were, and she enjoyed spending time with all of her family including time she spent going to Palm Springs and Las Vegas. She spent all special holidays with her family and was so grateful for each and everyone of them. She loved to cook and bake for her family, loved gardening, enjoyed her church, traveling and life in general.
She will always be in our hearts and our memories will last forever. She is predeceased by her husband Harry, beloved daughter Vi, two sisters and one brother. We will love and miss her until we see her again in her heavenly home.
A traditional Russian funeral will be held for her in Grand Forks, BC on Saturday April 6th.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 13th at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 795 W. Island Hwy, Parksville, BC. at 3pm.
