RAYNOR, Florrye Day (nee Scott)

Passed away peacefully on August 11, 2003 at Arranglen Lodge, Qualicum Beach, aged 76 years.

Predeceased by her husband Alfred Raynor in July, 2001, Florrye is survived by her children Aleeta (Kevin), Maureen and Jim (Mary), as well as grandchildren, Riza, Nathan, Cameron and Leila. Florrye is also survived by her sister Irene Wotton (Brandon, Man.); and brothers Maurice (Vancouver) and Jim (Kingston ON), and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a young woman Florrye trained as a nurse at the Brandon Mental Hospital and after her training she nursed at Flin Flon, Man. Then travelling west Florrye nursed at Dawson City, Nakusp, and Nanaimo where she met her future husband Al. Florrye’s nursing career continued in Port Alberni and Parksville after her children were raised.

An avid golfer, cook, gardener, and hockey fan, Florrye will be remembered for her sense of adventure, warm smile and optimism.

Funeral services were held in Parksville on August 14, 2003.
