In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Anstead, age 87, on December 30th, 2022. Frank has been welcomed into the arms of his late wife, Earnestine Mary Anstead (d. 2007). He will be lovingly remembered by his three children - Jennifer Anstead (Laurie), Michele Anstead (Rick) and Michael Anstead (Christine), his six Grandchildren (Chad, Corey, Jordan, Breanne, Tyler and Charlotte) and three Great Grandchildren (Joshua, Julia and Aliyah).
Born in 1935 in Erith Kent, UK Frank worked on the River Thames until he emigrated to Toronto Canada at the age of 19 with plans to become a Boxer. Instead, his hard work ethic and love of the water landed him a role with the Toronto Harbour Police. Frank has shared fascinating stories of police life "back in the day" and countless rescues on Lake Ontario. After 30 years of dedicated service, Frank retired and he and Mary moved to Qualicum Beach, BC where they spent 25 years enjoying the moderate weather and slow island life of their golden years. Frank made many lifelong friendships which he cherished until his final days.
Frank loved to laugh and was a master of pranks, always setting the joke up and timing it in just the right way to "get you"! Most certainly, his laughter would be the loudest in the room. Although life won't ever be the same without him, Frank has instilled a love of life and a hard work ethic in his family. His legacy will live on for generations to come. As per Frank's wishes, a private cremation has taken place.
