Frank Rudolph Wieler

July 16, 1926 - December 29, 2014

Frank passed on Monday, December 29, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Rose; children, Douglas, Laura, and Frank Conrad. Frank was predeceased by son, David in l988.

Dad was devoted to his family and many friends. A graduate of the Faculty of Commerce at University of Saskatchewan, he had a career as an Accountant and Management Consultant. He concurrently became a Major in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, (Reserve), and devoted much time to charity organizations: the 78th Fraser Highlanders, (Major), the Order of Lazarus, (Knight of Honour, Senate), and the Hospitaler Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem Knights, (Knight of Honour).

Dad loved music, played trumpet and piano, and led many bands and performance groups, such as the Island Troubadours, keeping alive tunes of the war years. He was also a singer and dancer, active in musical theatre productions, an avid reader, thoroughly well informed, and a person of high intellect. His family will remember him for his integrity, tenacity, compassion, and kindness. His motto was “Never give up.”

You were an outstanding human being, Dad.

We will always keep you alive in our hearts.
