In loving memory ~
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Garry Cox. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linda (nee Codner) of 49 years, and the light of his life son Christopher of New Westminster.
Also left to mourn are brother Larry (Bev) of Trenton, Ontario, and sister Louise (Ed- deceased) Walsh of Calgary, Alberta, many nephews and nieces and a large circle of family and friends. Garry was predeceased by his parents Llewellyn and Vera, and brother and sister-in-law George and Alma Scurry.
Garry grew up in Goulds, Newfoundland, and joined the RCMP in October 1980, and served in the 'E' Division (Duncan, Quesnel, Sechelt and Parksville) until his retirement. He was awarded the RCMP Long Service Medal, Silver Clasp, and Stars. Garry was a member of the NFLD. Church Lads Brigade, Boy Scouts, and Goulds Volunteer Fire Dept.
He was an active member of Parksville Rotary A.M., and past president of the Society of Organized Services (S.O.S.). Garry also loved woodworking, and many people had the pleasure of receiving his beautifully crafted pieces.
The family would like to thank Drs. M. Owen and Hunter, Palliative Care, Home Support, and Occupational Therapist for all their outstanding support and care.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Garry's memory to the S.O.S. Christmas Toy Drive (Garry's favourite S.O.S fund) or Parksville Rotary A.M. (Mexico Live Different) which Garry actively supported.
Service in Parksville will be announced at a later date, and his remains will be interred in his hometown of Goulds, Newfoundland.
We Know his special work partners Danielle and Sheilah were also there to greet him.
