Gary passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of NRGH after a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born in Alberta and resided in several places in Alberta before coming to BC in 1986, where he eventually settled on Vancouver Island. Gary spent the bulk of his working life in the trucking/transportation industry. He loved his family and he worked hard to provide for them. Gary will be dearly remembered by his loving partner Georgina Stoodley, his sons Evan (Kelsey) and Mark Fitch, daughters; Alice (Nick) Lacey, Amanda (Darren) Barr, Chrissy (Sean) Wright and Pam Wright. Poppa Gary will be sorely missed by his grandchildren; Anna, Shandra, Nolan, Anthony, Samantha, Victoria (Alice), Darian (Amanda), Jordan, Serena, Hunter (Chrissy), Dalton, Navianna, Hannah and Jessica (Pam). As well, Gary leaves behind sisters; Sharon (Tom), Wendie (Harold), Susan (Phil), Nancy, brother Curt (Dolly), numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many very good friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life held in Gary’s honour at his home in Errington on August 28, 2010 starting at 2:00 pm. All those who wish to remember Gary, please call Gina @ 250-248-1159 for address or information.
