It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, Geraldine after a brief battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her husband Dave, and her mother, Nell Godwin. She is survived by her four children, Donald (Angie) Hemphill, Leslie (Steve) Bommer, Kathleen (Dale) Wilker, and Barbara (Stephen Hinrichs) Hemphill, her nine grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Gerri spent most of her life living in Alberta and following the passing of her husband Dave, she made the move to Vancouver Island. Gerri maintained a fun and active life, enjoying golf, hiking, and kayaking. She was a budding artist and often used the beautiful island scenery as inspiration for her canvas.
Gerri became fully engaged in the local theatre scene by supporting, acting, directing, and producing many shows at various local theatres. Geraldine will be missed very much by all whose lives she touched. A special thanks to all those who provided her care during her brief illness.
