Gilbert Duncan Hopkins
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of MWO CD II Gilbert Duncan Hopkins; loving husband, father and best friend to many.
He was a beautiful man with a perpetual giving loving heart; who constantly thought of others before himself without fail.
Gil is survived by his beautiful wife and best friend Paula, son David, daughter in law Sheila, stepson, Guy, wife Angela, grandchildren Sarah, Brooke, Josh, (predeceased by stepson Paul) grandchildren, Zachary, Gabrielle, stepson Marc, wife Robin and stepson Joel.
Gil was an incredible soul companion who also leaves behind an immense group of friends. He had a distinguished military career with 37 years in the infantry retiring as a Master Warrant Officer.
In lieu of a memorial there will be a celebration of life at the
Qualicum Legion Br. 76 on Thursday December 10th, at 11:00a.m.
Those wishing to honour Gil in uniform, please feel free to do so.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the
Qualicum Legion Br. 76 Pipe band.
