Gibby passed away September 13, 2009 at Comox Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Gibby was predeceased by his brother Ernest, parents, and stepson Brian. Gibby is survived by his wife Colleen, dog Chico, grandchildren Robyn and Brandon and daughter-in-law Donna.
Gibby was born in Bermuda in 1927, immigrated to Victoria in 1955, and moved to Bowser in 1978.
