Gisela Margaret Descoteau
January 31, 1950 – July 8, 2015
Gisela passed peacefully to be with our heavenly father on Wednesday, July 8th, 2015. She leaves to mourn her passing son, Mark (Christina); daughter, Sari Descoteau (Lindsey Smith); grandchildren, Marina Descoteau and Olivia Smith; sisters, Colette (Tony) Silva, and Joyce (Ron) Pryor. Gisela was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Johanna Gimmy.
Gisela was a loving mother and grandmother. She received great pleasure from spending time with her family and travelling. An active member of the Parksville Baptist Church, Gisela took great comfort in her faith.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit for taking such good care of our mom, Gisela, and our family, during her stay with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Gisela’s honour at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, July 14th at the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church, 550 North Pym Street in Parksville. In lieu of flowers, please considering honour her memory with a donation in her name to the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit, 1200 Dufferin Crescent, Nanaimo, BC V9S 2B7.
