Gladys Elizabeth Jackson

September 4, 1915 - June 17, 2016

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and special Auntie. Left to miss her terribly is her only daughter Enid, son-in-law Al Fraser, grandson Craig as well as special nieces Sandra Naylor, Angie Naylor ( Bob Wright.) and many good friends and neighbours. Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband Henry of 44 years in 1999, 2 brothers,and 2 sisters, and special niece Doreen (John) Naylor.

Born in Wales, Gladys came to Canada with her family when she was 12 years old and lived in Capeau, Saskatchewan until moving to Errington B.C. in 1946. It was working at Errington store that she met Henry and they married in 1955.

Gladys was an avid bowler, and loved her games of bingo and trips to the casino. She loved to bake and especially muffins and waffles that she shared with friends and family who lovingly called her the "Muffin Queen".She was a volunteer for over 50 years with the Nanaimo Hospital Ladies Auxillary and earned a 60 year life membership with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49 in Parksville.
