Harry Evelyn Christopher Large was born at

Pleasantdale, Saskatchewan on December 24, 1919, passed away peacefully March 25, 2014

at home with his son at his side.

Harry was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy in 2008, survived by son Christopher (Amy), grandchildren Crystal (Dan) and William.

Harry and the rest of is family moved to Qualicum Beach in the fall of 1939. In 1940 he joined the army and spent most of his time in Europe. 1945 he was discharged from the army and came back to Qualicum Beach to settle. Harry started working for Qualicum Construction Co. and became a carpenter.

Harry met his future wife square dancing and he married Dorothy December 22 1962. In 1964 they had a son Christopher. In the early seventies he left Qualicum Construction Co. with a few other people and they started 4U Builders Ltd. He worked with them for a number of years till he went out on his own.

Harry was long time member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Qualicum Beach and was a founding member of the Qualicum Beach Historical and Museum Society.

If anyone would like to give a donation in his name, they can make it to St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Qualicum Beach, or the Salvation Army.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s

Anglican Church, 138 W. Hoylake Rd, off of

Memorial Rd in Qualicum Beach on

Friday, April 4, 2014 at 2 pm. Reception will be held in the church hall following the service.
