Died early Monday morning, May 22, 2017
at the age 86.
Born on June 13, 1930, to Elsie and Lawrence Stilwell, she was the oldest of two daughters.
All of us who knew her will miss this loving, generous, kind, activist, mother, teacher, and groundbreaker. Her participation in the Selma marches and work with social services in Birmingham, Alabama during the sixties is part of her legacy.
She gave birth to seven children of which five survive her; Stephen Knox, Christopher Knox, Jonathan Knox, Victoria Knox and Mary Rose LeBaron. Her children, including step children Joe LeBaron, Julie LeBaron, and Jill LeBaron, will miss her dearly, as will her 14 grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren, Her younger sister, Elizabeth Vance, and the Vance family are also feeling the separation.
