Helen Virginia BOND

Virginia Bond, a long time resident of Parksville, BC passed away peacefully on August 13, 2012.

Virginia was the only girl in a very close family of four boys attending school and growing up in Vancouver, BC

Virginia loved music, playing piano, creating beautiful water colour paintings and writing short stories.

Virginia began her career life in 1933 at the age of 18 in what would become her life long passion - teaching children. She taught children with learning challenges for over 57 years. Upon retiring, she continued with tutoring up until the age of 90.

Virginia was an active member of Knox United Church, UCW and various charities. She loved to be of service to others, sewing and knitting for children in third world countries, teaching Sunday school and participating in healing touch.

Virginia’s family and friends were her delight. She married

Ford Bond in 1946 and began their life together raising

their two daughters, Marlene and Lea. She is

predeceased by her husband Ford (1982) and will be sorely missed by her daughters Marlene (Dennis)

Anderson of Port Alberni and Lea Bond of Houston,

Texas. She also leaves behind many cherished

grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great

grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Knox United Church in Parksville on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m.
